Will the Cubs snap their losing skid with a win over the Brewers tonight at 8:05PM ET? Wade Davis pitched a 1-2-3 ninth for his third save. They had a 5-0 lead in yesterday's ballgame before Jimmy Nelson and the bullpen melted down, and then the late-inning relief corps blew a three-run lead in the latter stages of today's ballgame. Reliever Jared Hughes (1-1) took the loss.

Justin Grimm took home the win in this one after his flawless sixth inning.

The Yankees' Luis Severino allowed four runs (three earned) and three hits in a career-high eight innings.

Triggs (3-0) allowed three hits and two unearned runs in six innings. Thames doubled with one out and Ryan Braun singled to put runners on the corners. Chicago made it 5-2 on Schwarber's blast in the bottom of the inning, but Milwaukee quickly got one back when Orlando Arcia led off the fourth with a homer. Jon Jay followed that up with a big RBI triple to tie the game. Brett Anderson had far and away the worst start of his season, giving up three runs right away in the first inning. He threw 88 pitches (57 strikes) and appears ready to be activated from the 10-day DL. "When we get back home, we're gonna have to make a decision", manager Craig Counsell said. "He's ready to go", Counsell said. "Guys just don't show up and do this without being able to do a lot more and be consistent and have very productive seasons". He was removed from the game for a pinch-hitter in the seventh inning.

The top item was the first base used for the final two innings of Game 7 of the 2016 World Series, in which the Cubs won their first title since 1908.

SAN DIEGO - Shelby Miller allowed four hits over 7 1/3 innings and Yasmany Tomas hit a three-run homer as Arizona cruised past San Diego.

Six figures, apparently, if we're talking about first base from the Chicago Cubs' Game 7 victory over the Cleveland Indians last fall.
