Blizzard has officially announced the newest Overwatch event - Uprising.

Overwatch's legions of fans are always hungry for another new mode, character or map, and Uprising looks like it will mix up the gameplay quite a bit.

Overwatch's latest event takes us back to simpler times: when robots tried to take over London. There are a couple of new skins that players will be able to get in the game through loot crates. Also, the new game event's trailer hinted that the content could have a new game mode just like its predecessors where enemy hordes will come swarming in at the same time.

The Junkenstein PVE event during Halloween had been a massive success, and since then Overwatch players have been clamoring for the next Overwatch event.

The comic is nearly certainly a precursor to the King's Row Uprising in-game event scheduled to drop tomorrow, April 11. Rally your friends and accompany Tracer in his first mission during the King's Row insurrection.

In a post today, Blizzard officially lifted the veil on the newest event coming to its multiplayer team shooter Overwatch - Uprising.

"If you do, don't be surprised if you get disconnected and lose SR".

Listen to "Jeff [daddy Kaplan] from the Overwatch team" talk us through all the new additions in the Uprising event, including game modes, lore, and loot.

One particular stand out spray can also be seen of Widowmaker before she turned evil. The video has since been taken down, but not before Overwatch players found out about the details of the upcoming event.

Whether Blizzard's increased focus on the game's plot lends any credence to rumours of a story-based spin-off game remains to be seen...
