For 12 Year-Old Girl From Blue Springs, Missouri

AMBER ALERT for Missing Blue Springs Girl

The Blue Springs Police Department, near Kansas City, has cancelled an AMBER Alert issued earlier today for 12-year-old Apple Briscoe.

Police say two men from Maryland traveled to Missouri to abduct a girl they met on the internet.

A cyber connection turned into a real world abduction, as police say a crime committed in the Midwest ends with two Maryland brothers locked up.

The suspect is William Dela Cruz, an Asian Make 5 feet 10 inches tall weighing 220 pounds.

Twenty-two-year-old William Dela Cruz is charged in Kansas City with enticing a minor to engage in illicit sexual activity.

"I think its a testament to how well the Amber Alert system works, people do pay attention, if it wasn't for those phone calls we received we wouldn't have been able to recover this child", said Wentzville Police Chief Kurt Frisz. A short time later, they were spotted eating at a restaurant in Wentzville.

He was arrested and the girl was found after members of the public contacted police because of the Amber Alert. Investigators believe they were heading back east when they stopped in Wentzville.

A clerk at the U-GAS station on Route Z in Wentzville noticed the girl and Dela Cruz and called police.

Online court records don't show whether Dela Cruz has an attorney.

Because this case crossed state lines, it now falls on the FBI to investigate.
