Sargento Foods is recalling a specialty cheese because of possible listeria contamination. The manufacturer, Deutsch Kase Haus, LLC, promptly recalled all cheeses that went through the same production line.

Sargento Foods is recalling its colby and colby jack cheese products due to listeria contamination concerns.

So far no illnesses have been reported. But better safe than sorry; you should toss any of these packages lurking in your fridge.

No other Sargento products are affected.

Customers who have purchased these products should discard any unused portions. The last six digits of the UPC codes will vary.

According to the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention, listeria can cause a serious infection called listeriosis. The CDC says Listeriosis usually affects pregnant woman, newborns and older adults. Also recalled are lot numbers 110316V02, 110316V03 and 110316V04. The sell-by dates are April 12 and May 10, 2017.

The company is also removing packaged Amish Classic Colby Cheese with item numbers 55241 and 55245 which were cut from the suspect 55209 product and wrapped at the MDS Foods manufacturing facility located in Tullahoma, Tenn.

Company officials encourage customers to use the "Search Product" tool on their website to determine if their cheese is affected and, if so, what to do.
