The company earlier said it will increase the production of Switch before launch and that pre-order sales are looking good so far.

After years of resisting smartphones, Nintendo released Super Mario Run for Apple Inc. devices in December, while an Android version will follow in March. The company also revealed that Animal Crossing, an upcoming smartphone game, will be delayed. Profit was up more than 153 percent, coming in at $909 million. Many gaming staples were introduced by the company like directional pads on controllers, the option to save games, the start button and wireless controllers. Kimishima said the proportion of people opting to buy the game fell below the company's expectations of a double-digit conversion rate. "We want to increase production as much as we can".

On the other hand, for the Wii U console, we planned to ship 0.8 million units this fiscal year, based on our forecasts of comprehensive demand for Nintendo hardware. The biggest test is whether its core idea of portable and home gameplay will resonate with consumers. Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime has taken the time to talk about the Nintendo Switch, and how important he thinks Nintendo is to the gaming industry.

The argument then goes to the stocks of Nintendo and what decisions should be made to keep the business going. Nintendo expected only adults between 30-40 years who grew up playing NES as a kid would buy Nontendo Switch. Nintendo sold 196,000 units in the U.S.at a price of $60 during November, researcher NPD reported last month.

Nintendo is assuming exchange rates of 110 yen to the dollar and 120 yen to the euro, compared with 100 and 115 before.
